Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player secured his first trophy for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a difficult season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former mentor Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is his maiden trophy following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from spring of that year.
The win also signifies he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.
His retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.
He came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the final five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, he secured the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
